About me

I am a software engineer in Cosmostat Lab. My main role in the lab is to test the WaveDiff model using real Euclid Data.
WaveDiff is a novel data-driven point spread function model developed by Dr. Tobias Liaudat. The primary objective of the Euclid mission is to comprehend the mysteries of dark energy and dark matter. Cosmologists rely on weak lensing to study the nature of dark matter, necessitating precise measurements of galaxy shapes. However, the telescope's point spread function (PSF) distorts observations. Therefore, a robust PSF model is crucial for the success of weak lensing analyses and WaveDiff shows promise in fulfilling this task. Additionally, I contribute to the maintainability of the software refactored by Jennifer Pollack for the WaveDiff model.

Education

  • Master's degree in Astrophysics, Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble, 2023
  • Computer and Communication Engineering Diploma, Faculty of Engineering, Lebanese University, 2016

For my master's thesis, I worked under the supervision of Dr. Valentin Decoene at the Subatech lab, developing a pipeline to detect Fast Radio Bursts observed by the NenuFAR radio telescope. The FRB program at NenuFAR aims to determine whether FRBs exist at these very low frequencies. Answering this question will enhance our understanding of the mysterious sources that produce FRBs and their underlying physical mechanisms.
